The "May 5" market in Tirana has been completely destroyed after a massive fire that engulfed all the warehouses yesterday evening, January 8, for reasons that have not yet been officially confirmed, but which are suspected to have come from an electrical spark.

As can be seen from the footage, only sheet metal and the ruins of the merchants' warehouses remain in the area, who have stated that the financial damage is extremely considerable, since all the goods they sold were there.

As seen in these images, initially smoke was coming out of a structure and then flames spread rapidly.

The fire is suspected to have started as a result of an electrical fault, however the exact causes remain under investigation.

So far, at least 50 entities that were conducting commercial activities in the silo where the flames started have been completely burned.
