Students spend hours studying, spending endless amounts of their budget on books and lectures during their years of study. The cost of living is another expense item, for many students bordering on the unaffordable.
But what happens at the end of the study cycle?
Both those who studied for this day and those who did not take their studies too seriously will take the subject of the diploma.
"Piranhas" have investigated what is done with the market with the subjects of the diplomas.
In social networks there are endless pages and profiles with names such as "diploma theses" with prices ranging from 150-250 euros and receive the diploma in hand.
In exchange for money, you are provided with the subject of the diploma, all plagiarized and illegal, thus completing the cycle of studies without much effort.
The "Piranha" trap in this puntante has fallen the realtors who show the topics of the diplomas, in many cases stealing the works of students who have finished years ago, or even of different professors, and give them to the students who buy them.
Follow the Piranha's investigation
Have you ever thought that many students who graduate, often with excellent grades, have not even read their thesis? Have you ever thought that there are so-called thesis topic factories?
Where, with very little money, students do not even need to sit down to conceive and work on the topic, which in reality, is the patent for an important leap, from student life to professional life?
Surely the students themselves have this information.
It is enough to take a look at the social networks, where with dozens of pages with prices ranging from 150 to 250 euros, they are ready to hand you the worked topic of the diploma.
A few days ago, on Instagram we contacted several sites to offer ready-made themes. The student only has to put his name and signature, and submit it as his work.
All the sites we contacted had impressive availability.
And we chose to personally meet one of the people who fabricate the subjects of the diplomas.
It is about a man in his thirties from Tirana, an employee in an important state agency, who fabricates diploma topics mostly for spiritual satisfaction.
Piranhas: What else do you do?
Student: With statistics, I work at INSTAT. I have been doing this job for about 3-4 years. I have topics like this, a very simple thing. I'm more interested in doing research, things like that.
Piranhas: Do you do these yourself now or?
Student: Yes, yes. In Philology I have done several times, in foreign languages, archeology because it is not related to specialization.
Piranhas: And you do all this yourself?
Student: What about yourself, why don't you fill your mind?
Piranjat: No, it fills my mind, but because you told me that you have done a lot, I was also saying, can you do it alone...
We are dealing with a universal student, which you can send anywhere to the front, and it will leave you white-faced.
In the conversation, he tells us that he does not work alone, despite being the brains of the operation.
Student: "I also work with a friend to be honest. I have colleagues, collaborators so to speak. I think of everything, even when there is work she gives me the idea of what needs to be done. What research questions need, which is the first part of the topic. The methodology, the questionnaires, the things, she just applies what I tell her. How many people have I graduated like that, endless. Normally I keep people anonymous because it doesn't come into my job to tell people that I did that to them. Well, if I say 40 years old, she got six. At Ekonomiku, they don't give you more credit no matter how good you are. I have a guy who even though he doesn't know me, I don't take jobs for nothing. And this is a very small thing compared to the things I do. You're dealing with one I'm passionate about the research part, so you're lucky to have found me. I did it in Germany. I did in Milan in Bokoni, yes, you have heard that it is a super university. Among the best in the world and in Europe, that's right."
Piranhas: Did you do a lot there or one?
Student: I did two, three.
Diploma topic for Bokoni. Quite an experience. It is clear that we have found the right person, moreover, there are requests from all over. Thank goodness there is no such thing as an office.
"I've done endlessly, understand, I've done a lot. Although I have done so, it is not that I have an office, so to speak. After all, I should have an office. What about the office then, you want to deprive people of the money, do you understand?"
Student: I told you there are many requests.
Piranjat: What are you talking about abroad?!
Student: Not even here. The fact that I do it without an office is not a real business…
Student: When it's the season, you're full. That it is also this small season now. Last season we had more work. Year, year. This year there have been fewer requests, probably because people don't have any lek.
Student: I did it all over Albania, understand. I did not only in Tirana, but also in Durrës, Elbasan.
Piranhas: Who was the hardest you've done?
Student: They annoyed me at Epoka, they gave non-scientific arguments. But it was a Greek nipple.
Piranhas: At Epoka, University?
Student: Yes, master. Not that it was difficult, but I was more angry that I took some money from him. I received 500 thousand lek, very little.
We had a lot, we didn't have any. That I am not a person like that for 170-200 thousand Lek, that I am left for 200 thousand Lek. How many 200,000 Leksha have escaped us like that, if things had been caught like this, who knows what I would have today. It's not the problem, but it makes no sense to take the other one on my neck either.
Usually when I talk on the phone I do the first part and tell him give me the money. I give you the paper, the first part you give me the halves. We're done, give me the other halves.
Piranhas: I see.
Student: I mean, the moment I give you the thing, give me the thing.
He gives you the thing, he gives him the thing. Our new friend, is definitely an incredible master of theme design. Up to Milan's Bocconi, don't forget.
If in this case, this young man who claims to be an expert in what he does, takes the trouble to write the topics himself...
At least that's what it leads us to believe...
In many other cases, the thesis topics are blatantly stolen. So, in short, the same theme, worked on by a student years ago, comes back as the work of someone a few years younger who simply bought it.
And this without the knowledge of the author...
Who has no idea that his theme is sold up and down.
Nertili: Where is it sold?
Piranhas: In the chancellery, no. Everywhere. Come, let's go together so you can believe it.
Piranjat: "I have a problem that I am a little behind with the diploma part. I have no idea how to do it. Does anyone know or do you do, because they told me to try it at the chancellery once".
Piranhas: Do you have a theme or not?
Piranhas: They left us free, either for the history of Byzantium, or for the history of Albania.
Realtor: What school are you in?
Piranhas: To the story.
Realtor: Philological?
Piranha: After.
Realtor: I said not to give you anything ready, let's find it.
Piranhas: Ready how?
Realtor: Done, you have it ready, you just hand it over there.
Piranjat: Doesn't it appear that someone else submitted it to the system?
Realtor: If it's another school, he won't go.
But how capable is this theme broker to do us a good job?
Realtor: I did it, don't kill your brain, at Filologigu, but I had it for the presentation of the journalism part. He got 10. He didn't believe it.
Piranhas: What do you say?!
Realtor: Normally we change some things, from the inside. Structure, order.
Piranjat: I mean, don't worry, the moment I get it ready, they don't tell me that you plagiarized it, any copying or anything?
Realtor: I get it from the internet, it's not like they wrote it themselves, or did it according to their own mind.
Piranhas: I see.
Realtor: Plagiarism is not that it comes out, that I find it in another department that has at least something similar to this topic. Another school, you have more in history, you take it in philology, but 10 years ago, the lecturers remember the topics they presented more than they control them, and put them into the system that come out plagiarized. don't kill the mind.
We just learned that the topic of the diploma, being a formality...
Weary in vain over books, desolate students. But before we learn the price.
Piranhas: How much is the price?
Realtor: As theme and set as connection, 150 thousand ALL.
Piranha: And give it to me only in email?
Realtor: Yes, just degrees.
Now it's time to choose the topic. The master lines us up like at a fair, where you can choose the title and volume on the page. He has everything ready there, on his computer.
Realtor: These are for history right?
The role of international organizations and the development of Albania. We can change it to any year, anything. There are 57 pages, it is in Durrës, which has no connection at all.
Piranha: I see, this is someone else's work?
Students; Po.
So, a student in Durrës spent weeks, maybe months, to realize the topic of the diploma, never thinking that one day his work would be found on the computer of an office in Tirana.
Realtor: I have this other one who is from Kosovo. The history of Skanderbeg, But this has 33 pages, we can add a few more pages.
Piranhas: Shall we fix it?
Realtor: There is this other Ottoman Empire and Christians, the Faculty of Philosophy.
Piranhas: Is this in Pristina?
Realtor: There were some Kosovar words.
Piranhas: They have their own dialect, I understand.
Realtor: Take it from the start.
Durrës, Gjakova, Pristina. Choose from all the Albanian-speaking regions where there are universities. A real fair, in five square meters.
After we received the offers, the teacher suggested us to choose the subject of the University of Durres.
Sink: This won't bother us at all.
The role of organizations.
When can you have it ready for me more or less?
I believe that this week...
This week?!
A few days later, we pass by the office again, to see if the topic is ready, and there we learn that the topic phenomenon has not only finished it, but has even replaced it, choosing another paper from the one he had suggested to us. earlier.
Piranhas: What does it look like?
Realtor: I worked what you liked, Ottoman Empire. At the beginning of each chapter I added the reference, if they check it comes out.
Piranhas: I see, for them to confirm it is okay or not.
Realtor: Did you have a history?
Piranha: Yes, Philological History.
Realtor: I did this authorship study.
Piranhas: Take it all?
Realtor: Yes, I have finished work. Tell me, tell me what I did wrong, what I need to fix, what I need to do. If he looks at it and says it's okay, let's finish the job, he hands it over.
Hold these once. First, then if it's okay, I'll bring you the rest.
Finally, the topic is in our hands. But knowing that we are dealing with plagiarism, we seek to find the author, and with a little research, we learn that the work belongs to Arber Berisha from Prishtina. It is about a diploma topic from 10 years ago, which is not known how it ended up in the chancellery of Tirana.
Piranhas: We did a thesis together a few days ago. Which turns out to be in the name of Arbë Berisha, a former student at the University of Pristina. You took this paper and sold it to me.
Piranha: How did you get this job?
Realtor: I got it from the internet.
Piranhas: Do you think it's fair that you get it from the internet and then sell it? That right there is a person's student life, which is all his, do you think it's right that you use it?
Realtor: Open the material, I worked on it myself. I almost got just the idea of that one.
Piranhas: Look closely at how the two threads are like two drops of water.
This is all his work.
Realtor: Yes, it's his idea.
Piranha: You've done this before, haven't you?
Realtor: I did the work, you understand. You can find these anywhere, open the website and you can see them anywhere.
Piranha: But that's not allowed, right?! You know this.
Realtor: You're right, it's not allowed, it's against copyright.
Well, that's it. Do you find it a little difficult to steal someone else's work?
Piranhas: It's cheating, and it's not a moral thing you can do. It is the student life of each person and cheat and an entire teaching staff.
Realtor: I think about the student.
Piranhas: A thesis topic that you take ready-made, from another person, and make it look like you did it. And get a certain amount of money, 150 thousand old lek. If you thought about the students, I believe you would do it for free, if you were so altruistic.
Realtor: If you look at it, go to Instagram and you will have hundreds of pages that do it.
Piranhas: We do not discuss it, but everyone is responsible for themselves.
Realtor: It's a fight for survival, as they say.
And while we argue with this plagiarist, hundreds of students across the country are waiting for someone, paid or unpaid, to work on their thesis. In addition to being unacceptable, this is also a damage that each of them does to themselves first, and to society second.
