The Special Court of Appeal has rejected the request of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, to be released from prison.

It has been decided not to change the security measure for Veliaj, "arrest in prison".

Meanwhile, the security measure "prison arrest", imposed in February of this year by the Special Appeal on March 13, is under review in the High Court.

We recall that Erion Veliaj was arrested on February 10, accused of "passive corruption" in 9 cases and "money laundering".

SPAK has recently added another charge to Veliaj, that of "hiding assets".
