On October 23, Armando Bako , who had been on the run for more than ten years, was arrested in Albania .
Bako was subject to an order for the concatenation of sentences totaling 29 years in prison, after being found guilty as a member of a criminal organization of mafia character, engaged in the international trafficking of large quantities of narcotics, with supply routes coming from Colombia, Spain and Albania.
The person had disappeared in April 2013, at the time of the first order for the execution of the prison sentence, following a sentence of 22 years in prison for the same criminal offenses.
Subsequent judicial investigations led to the issuance of the order of consolidating the sentences, which determined the current sentence.
Investigations, conducted with determination over the years and supported by international police cooperation, made it possible to locate the fugitive in Albania, where he had taken refuge using various false names to avoid arrest.
Even at the moment of arrest, Bako tried to hide his identity, giving Albanian investigators one of the pseudonyms he had previously used to avoid checks./ Corriere de la Serra
