The Constitutional Court held a public hearing this Wednesday on the issue of the seizure of journalist Elton Qyno's electronic devices by SPAK.
SPAK has requested a postponement of the hearing, while the court has withdrawn its interim decision after Qyno changed the subject of the request. The lawyers have requested that the Special Prosecution, in addition to returning the journalist's belongings, also destroy the materials accessed on his phone.
Journalist Elton Qyno was questioned by SPAK in December last year and his apartment was searched by court order as part of a criminal proceeding for violation of investigative secrecy.
According to SPAK, the materials published in the media matched Nuredin Dumani's communications with other people on the "Sky" application and for this reason, Elton Qynos was asked to show how he had provided such materials that were part of the investigative acts. SPAK returned his son's phone, but not his own.
Journalist Elton Qyno was ordered to appear on charges of passive corruption in the private sector in the case that the Prosecution is investigating against the group of Suel Çela, the much-wanted justice official who, with cocaine trafficking money, had extended his influence in the justice system and the media. On March 14, the Appeals Court of Kosovo lifted the order against journalist Qyno.
