New details are coming to light regarding the double crime that occurred at the Finikounda campsite on Sunday evening, where the Greek owner and the Albanian caretaker, a friend of the businessman, lost their lives.
Speaking to SKAI, police spokesperson Constantia Dimoglidou stated that the perpetrator of the attack was likely a minor, while also recounting the conversation he had with one of the victims, the 70-year-old owner of the campsite, before shooting him to death.
"It is a very serious and very strange case. In fact, about a month ago there was an attack against the owner of the campsite with an air rifle. He was slightly injured without reporting to the police whether he and his partner were directly or indirectly threatened," the spokeswoman said.
She noted that "we have reports from eyewitnesses who speak of at least one person, at a young age. It is possible that he is a minor."
Eyewitnesses even told police that they "saw a person fatally wound the owner and then chased the caretaker and shot him. We don't know how he arrived and fled the scene. It's an area where police can't easily find footage," the spokeswoman noted.
"There were quite a few people and there are witnesses who heard the conversation between the perpetrator and the victim. There was a very short conversation. The perpetrator asked for a place to stay at the campsite, the owner said there was no free space and fatally wounded him," she concluded, emphasizing, however, that it cannot be considered the cause of the crime and it is being investigated whether something happened in the past between the perpetrator and the victims.
