IGJEO expert Anira Gjoni, speaking about the climate changes that the country has faced in recent years in "Wake Up", has shown that Albania will be affected by storms even more often in the future.
This happens as the increase in the average global temperature is increasing and if it continues with this progress, the consequences will be even greater.
"What we have noticed during the last 5 years is that we are being affected more often by all these storms, you call them the whims of the weather, we call them extreme weather events, we will be affected even more often perhaps. The average global temperature is increasing and if it continues in this progressive way that it is continuing, then the consequences will be even greater. The call of all international agencies dealing with climate change or climate monitoring is that we will have to take measures to prevent this temperature from continuing to rise in this frightening way. We have to get used to the new climate with warmer temperatures, because every year more and more our country gets more pronounced characteristics of the subtropical climate, which means that we have to get used to warmer temperatures and more intense rainfall". says John.
Asked whether the winter season will be cold or mild this year, the expert says: Referring to December, which is also the first month of winter, it will be drier than November and with lower temperatures. This November was accompanied by temperatures 1-2 degrees higher than what should be normal for this month. It is similar to the last five Novembers. December is expected to be warmer than it has been and drier.
