The hot Sunday of July 17 marked one of the most serious criminal events in the country in recent years. In a mafia assassination at the Fushë-Kruja overpass, three young men were killed with a Kalashnikov volley, two of whom were burned by the flames that engulfed the "Volswagen Passat" vehicle they were driving.

The victims were identified as Brilant Martinaj and his two friends Diklen Vata and Besmir Hoxha. The vehicle was driven by Hoxha, while in the front seat was Brilant Martinaj, who is suspected to be the target of the assassination, while Diklen Vata was in the back seat.

The "Volswagen Passat" vehicle in which the three young men were traveling was hit by another vehicle that was moving parallel to them.

According to preliminary investigations, the assassins were four people, still unidentified but wanted by the police, for whom a reward of 30 million old leks has been put for anyone with information.

Brilant Martinaj, 22 years old, is wanted for the murder of the member of the Rapid Intervention Forces, Xhuljo Prela.

From the intensity of the bullets in the direction of the first place in the vehicle, where Brilant Martinaj was sitting, it is suspected that he is the target of this assassination attempt.

The other victim is Diklen Vata, 30 years old, a person with previous criminal records, as he was arrested in 2017 with several doses of cocaine in his car.

The body of the 30-year-old man was found outside the vehicle, which proves that he tried to leave the barrage of bullets, but that he could not succeed as the assassins returned and shot him again.

While the third victim, Besmir Hoxha, is known as the friend and confidant of Brilant Martinaj.

The involvement of the vehicle in flames is suspected to have come as a result of the many hits that the car received in the part of the garage, but it is also possible that the perpetrators threw fuel on the vehicle after they were sure that they had executed them.

It is suspected that the killers are experts who carry out crimes for hire, referring to the precision of the blows and the choice of the place of assassination, an overpass, where the target has no chance to deviate.

Immediately after the serious incident, a vehicle was found burnt four kilometers from the scene in the village of Larushke. Two Kalashnikovs and an MP5 automatic weapon were found inside the "Pasat" vehicle.

RENEA and FNSH carried out intensive checks in the area where the assassins' car was found burnt, as well as in Nikël village.

The investigative group has seized the cameras of several businesses to see the route of the vehicle that carried out the massacre with three victims.

Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, the Fushë-Kruja police station was visited by the General Director of the State Police, Gladis Nano, who asked for a quick clarification of the incident and the escorting of all suspected persons from all possible tracks.
