Some important changes are expected to be approved in the Road Code of the Republic of Albania.

VOX NEWS has secured the final draft that has been submitted to the Assembly, where it is about some changes that really come to the aid of citizens who drive vehicles.

Drivers of buses, trucks or public transport can drive until the age of 70, from the current 65.

This change is made to adjust the pension age which goes proportionally to the increase.

An important change is also the one for the renewal of patents.

For car drivers, if until now the maximum term is 10 years for up to the age of 50 and limited even more until the age of 70; with the new changes, it is foreseen that up to the age of 70, an extension of up to 15 years will be made.

Albania, unlike other European countries, has a kind of discrimination against its citizens, but not only.

If a German citizen who has a license with a 15-year term, if he were to convert it to an Albanian one, he would directly lose 5 years, which penalizes him, unlike his country.

But life expectancy has also increased and the age of 50 cannot be seen as an old age.

The new code is expected to remove medical reports, which have been the most ridiculous and unnecessary expense required of drivers.

Only drivers over 70 will need to obtain a certificate from the Family Doctor, not requiring a document with 10 stamps.

But the new changes foresee a kind of limitation in terms of new managers.

If you are a new driver and have just received your license, you will not be able to drive more than 80 km/h on the highway for up to three years.

The maximum speed on a highway in our country is 110 km per hour. At this speed, for example, it moves on the bypass of Fier. But if the changes are approved, new drivers will have to drive at least 30 kilometers less.

A reduction in speed for this category of drivers has also been seen for the main inter-urban roads.

For example, such as Elbasan-Tirana, in which the maximum movement from 90 km/h currently, is expected to be reduced to 70 km/h.
