Burned her 4-year-old daughter with hot water, life imprisonment for the 25-year-old Albanian

A 25-year-old prostitute from Kosovo has been sentenced to life imprisonment, after being accused of the death of her 4-year-old daughter. For her, the charge of "murder by omission" is heavy.

The German media reports that the court found that the young Albanian woman deliberately washed her child with extremely hot water and did not send him to the hospital for medical assistance. For this reason, the little girl died 12 days later from her severe injuries.

In her justification before the jury, the Albanian woman said that, since she had assumed that the child did not have health insurance, she had not treated him at the doctor and was afraid that she would have to bear the costs.

In August 2022, she had deliberately bathed her daughter in her apartment in Grasberg near Bremen with water so hot that the child suffered life-threatening burns. Since she had assumed the child did not have health insurance, she had not taken her daughter to the doctor at all.

The Kosovar, born in Germany, treated the child "completely inadequately", applying ointment and bandages. Even after the mother of three children realized that the four-year-old was getting worse and worse, her mother still did not see the right to send her for medical help, leaving her to die.

During the trial, the defendant said that she realized too late that the water was too hot. She also claimed that the wounds were caused by the girl herself. The court did not believe this claim, because the severity of the wounds should have made it clear what torment the child suffered.
