A few months ago, the Serbian government bought through an auction the painting with Albanian motifs "Arnaut Warrior" for 300 thousand pounds.
Artan Shkreli writes today that the name of this work has been changed, now calling it "Bashibozuku Rest".
"Without falling into nationalism...it is definitely harmful scientifically, and ugly as a neighbor, what the Ministry of Culture of Serbia has done with the painting 'Warrior Arnaut', bought at the famous London auction for about 300,000 pounds...Exhibited in Belgrade recently days ago, it was renamed there as "Odmor başibozuka / Rest of bashibozuku", Shkreli said.
Paja Jovanovic's painting "Bashibozuku's Vacation", which, as the media pompously announced, "returned to Serbia", because the Belgrade City Museum, with the support of the state, President Aleksandar Vucic and the Ministry of Finance, bought it in a auctioned at Sodeby's in London for £304,800 with all fees and taxes, in all likelihood she has never been to Serbia.
