The case against doctor Edvin Prifti, who allegedly was paid for 7 cardiac interventions, is going to trial.

Renowned doctor Edvin Prifti is accused by SPAK of "passive corruption" in 7 cases, "theft committed by abuse of office", "concealment of income" and "money laundering".

Doctor Prifti is suspected of receiving a bribe from the chief secretary of the Kruja Court, Manuela Mallakuçi, to operate on his mother.

A total of 250 thousand euros and 16 million lek were found in the home and office of doctor Edvin Prifti, a cardiac surgeon at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center.
