The Special Court has remanded in prison the chief of the Tirana Traffic Police, Roven Zeka, and the chief of the Accidents sector, Sokol Novaku, arrested for committing the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", committed in collaboration.
According to SPAK, they were arrested after taking a 2,000 euro bribe from a driver who was involved in a road accident in Tirana on April 16.
They denied the charges during the hearing, claiming that they have no connection to the criminal act for which they are accused by SPAK.
The decision was given by Judge Flojera Davidhi, who a day earlier issued the same measure for judicial police officer Edison Tabaku.
