'Metamorphosis' file, SPAK requests 74 years in prison for 7

SPAK has filed this Thursday the claim for the seven defendants in the file known as "Metamorphosis", for the separate part related to crimes classified as "minor".

Defendants Edmond Preka and Oltian Bistri were also present at the court session held at the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, while the prosecution requested the appropriate sentences for all defendants.

The sentences requested by the prosecution are as follows:

Behar Bajrovic – 15 years in prison
Pellumb Gjoka – 14 years in prison
Edmond Preka – 11 years in prison
Ardit Hasanbegaj – 9 years in prison
Oltian Bistri – 9 years in prison
Xhevair Lita (former prosecutor) – 6 years in prison
However, the defendants are expected to benefit from the summary trial, a procedure that provides for a 1/3 reduction in the sentence if found guilty, reducing the time served in prison.
