The forces of the Guardia di Finanza in Verona have destroyed a group of Albanians who were involved in the trafficking and distribution of narcotics in this city as well as the entire surrounding region. Local media reports that five people have been arrested in total, of which four are Albanians aged 31-41, while one is Tunisian.

All of them were involved in the distribution of cannabis and heroin in Verona, Cerea and Sona. During the operation, one of the persons was caught immediately after landing at Verona airport from an airline that had left for Rinas, reports abcnews.al.

"Immediately after he landed at the Verona airport after having flown on a plane from Albania, he was caught by the Guardia di Finanza forces, who sent him to the police station where the relevant procedures will be followed", reports the local media.

These arrests were made in the framework of the previous operation carried out in September 2021 against criminal groups in the area where several kilograms of heroin, marijuana and other materials necessary for the separation, weighing and packaging of drugs were seized, writes abcnews.al.

The September 2021 operation shed light on the new techniques of drug separation, mixing and packaging by the group, which included Albanians. According to the Italian media, starting after this operation, the Albanians began to be very careful using other communication channels as well as codes between them.

From the interceptions, for example, the police have established the coded language. For example, when they wanted to talk about the distribution and packaging of drugs, they said "I'll come grill the meat", while when they talked about the amount of drugs, they said "does it cost a lot or as usual?".
