A serious incident has shocked the Albanian community in Greece, where 53-year-old Bujar Meço stabbed his ex-wife, Emsa Meço, 44, to death in the Rhodope area.

According to Greek media, after the crime, the perpetrator attempted to end his life by self-harming and consuming diesel, and is currently hospitalized, out of danger.

The couple had been separated for some time. The 44-year-old, who worked seasonally outside the Rhodope Mountains, had returned to the apartment to celebrate their 16-year-old daughter's birthday. During this time, the perpetrator attacked her by stabbing her in the neck.

At the time of the incident, the 16-year-old girl was in the house in another room, who was the person who notified the police authorities. The victim was later taken to the hospital by her son, but doctors were unable to save her due to her injuries.

According to data from Greek media, there had been problems and tensions between the couple before.

In 2022, Emsa Meço reported her husband for threats, after which he was arrested and brought before the judicial authorities.
