New details have emerged from the serious crime within an Albanian family that occurred this Wednesday in Greece, where the names of the victim and the perpetrator have been revealed. It concerns Esma Meço, who was stabbed to death by her husband, Bujar Meço, who then attempted to end his life by drinking gasoline.
It is learned that the couple from Gramshi had been at odds with each other for years, and today, after a fierce argument between them in the presence of their children, the 53-year-old took the extreme step and shot his wife to death.
It was the Meço couple's daughter who called the Greek police, while the 44-year-old died at the scene. Bujar Meço was urgently transported to the hospital, where it is learned that his life is out of danger.
Greek investigators are now trying to uncover what happened inside the apartment and what were the causes that led to the escalation of the conflict. According to initial reports, this is not a completely isolated episode, as there had been problems between the couple before.
A previous incident was recorded in 2022, when the couple was in Heraklion, Crete. At that time, the woman had filed a complaint against her husband for threatening her, while he was handcuffed at the time.
This past is now being examined by investigators, who are trying to understand whether the recent conflict was the result of a long history of tensions between the spouses and whether there were previous signs that could have warned of the escalation of violence.
