Prime Minister Edi Rama has also criticized mayors regarding the creation of profitable enterprises in the country's municipalities.

The head of government stated that with the new territorial reform, the municipality should also think about village life as an entrepreneur and not just about paving roads, cleaning canals, etc.

Rama added that municipalities should join forces with farmers to create, for example, production lines and utilize the Bank of Albania's 250 million euro credit line.

"It is the problem of access to money from the budget, salaries and investments. Profitable municipal enterprises are still not being created. There are some attempts, but they are insufficient. Municipalities should be part of village life as entrepreneurs. Municipalities outside are part of collection structures, processing, transport lines.

We have an instrument where municipalities must definitely take responsibility, which is the BoA credit line, 250 million euros, where municipalities must be the leader and bring farmers together to create a line, for example, for olive oil. By having the municipality as a part, it becomes easier for banks to support farmers. This way, the government has the opportunity to step in and increase support. Who will make it easier for farmers to do the project to receive funds from AZHBR?

The agriculture departments in the municipality are ridiculous, comical. There are no people who deal with the lands and for whom there is respect. A great commitment must be made in this, since we also have the possibility of the financing instrument. Who will activate the Mountain Package? The distrust of many people who are outside? ", said Rama
