The country's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has gathered in Durrës the mayors and several cabinet ministers.

The focus of the meeting will be the work of municipalities to free up occupied public spaces, the implementation of the "Mountain Package", and agricultural support policies.

The meeting will also discuss the role of municipalities in the EU integration process.

The meeting comes after a wave of dismissals and resignations of local leaders in several municipalities, where the head of government has been in recent days.
