The chairman of the "Nisma-Albania Behet" coalition, Adriatik Lapaj, has made a public denunciation on the social network Facebook, announcing a serious act of intimidation against the candidate of this political force in Durrës, Valbona Myhedi.
According to the complaint, the candidate was threatened with a weapon by people suspected of being connected to organized crime.
The incident allegedly occurred during an electoral activity in neighborhood no. 8 of the city, near the “Eftali Koçi” school, where Ms. Myhedin was holding meetings with citizens and presenting her electoral program.
"A few minutes ago, members of organized crime in Durrës blocked the path of our candidate Valbona Myhedi and the activists accompanying her, pointing the gun at her waist to intimidate her," Lapaj writes.
He says that Valbona Myhedin is also an American citizen and for this reason, the incident will be immediately referred to the United States Embassy in Tirana.
Lapaj described this action as an act of cowardice and asked the State Police to react immediately.
"That coward who dared to point a gun at two women should know that he will be held accountable before the law. This cowardice will not go away easily. If they think they will turn us back, they are wrong!"
At the end of the denunciation, Lapaj shared a video where, according to him, the person who committed the intimidating act appears, calling on the authorities to intervene without delay.
