Love that turned into tragedy - The "Albanian" murder that shocked

New details have been made public from the serious incident that occurred this morning in Nea Smyrni, Athens, where a 45-year-old woman was shot and killed by a 48-year-old man, who then took his own life.

According to preliminary investigations by Greek authorities, the victim and the perpetrator had had a relationship in the past, and it is suspected that there had been conflicts between them.

In 2024, the woman filed a report against the 48-year-old at the Acropolis Police Station, accusing him of embezzlement. According to her testimony, he had taken a motorcycle from her.

However, so far, no previous reports of domestic violence between them have been identified.

The incident was partially solved through footage from a building's security cameras, which recorded the moments before and during the crime.

According to the information so far, the perpetrator had been waiting for the 45-year-old in his car, near the entrance of the building on Grigoriou Kydonias Street, no. 3.

When the woman arrived, a heated argument broke out between them. Moments later, the 48-year-old shot her in the head and body, then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.

The victim has been identified as Julieta Obzova, born in Albania in 1981 and with Greek identification documents.

According to preliminary information, she did not live in the building where the crime occurred, but had gone there because her daughter lived in that building.

The author has been identified as Altin Allmuça, originally from Tirana, who lived in Kallithea.

The murder weapon, a revolver, was also found at the scene, under the 48-year-old's body. The fact that it was a revolver also explains the lack of bullet casings at the scene.

Another element being investigated by authorities are photographs published by the 48-year-old on social media, where he appeared posing with a gun.

The posts have been reviewed by Homicide Department officers, who are trying to uncover all the circumstances and motive of the crime.

The shots were heard shortly after 5:30 a.m., alarming residents in the area. Numerous police forces and ambulances arrived at the scene, but there was nothing more that could be done for the two people.

Investigations continue, while the coroner's report is awaited, which is expected to determine the exact number of bullets the 45-year-old received and other details about the manner of the murder.
