The Court of Appeals upholds the "prison arrest" measure for Turkish citizen Julide Yazici, 32 years old.
Turkish activist Julide Yazici was arrested a few days ago in Rinas after being wanted by Turkish justice authorities.
Despite her being granted political asylum in France, the court rejected the defense's request for release.
Seven years ago, while she was a student, Yazici participated in protests against President Erdogan's government.
She was initially arrested in 2016, with Turkish authorities accusing her of links to a terrorist organization.
In the hearing held at the Tirana Court on August 7, Turkish activist Julide Yazici claimed that she is being politically persecuted due to her political beliefs and for this reason does not accept extradition to Turkey.
She added that she has protested against President Erdogan and that her life is in danger if she returns to her homeland.
