The High Prosecutorial Council (KLP) officially opens today the competition for the new head of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK).

Based on the law, the competition was opened 3 months before the end of the mandate of Chief Prosecutor Altin Dumani, who was elected to head the Special Prosecution Office on December 16, 2022.

Dumani is the second head of the Special Prosecution Office to be elected after the end of the mandate of Arben Kraja, who was the first after the establishment of the special prosecution office. After leaving this position, he will serve as the special prosecutor of this structure until the end of his 9-year mandate.

Arben Kraja was elected as the first head of SPAK in December 2019, while Altin Dumani was elected in December 2022.
