Albania is expected to be hit by short-term, but high-intensity storms during Friday.
The warning comes from meteorologist Tanja Porja, who spoke to A2cnn about the weather conditions in the coming days.
According to Porja, the storms will affect almost the entire territory of the country, while the most endangered areas are the central and southeastern ones.
She explained that these are storm cells that form and settle over certain areas, producing the strongest activity there.
"We expect something very small in the Albanian territory today. On Friday we have short-term storms almost throughout the entire Albanian territory. No one can determine it, because they are cells that break off, settle over a locality, and there they produce the maximum of their activity."
All of Albania is at risk from these storms. The central and eastern areas, the southeast, Fushë-Krujë, Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, part of Librazhd, Pogradec, Korçë, Ersekë, Devoll are all affected by a pink spot.
We can also include Përmet and Gjirokastra. The entire territory is at risk. Fortunately, they are short-term storms, where in 20-40 minutes they produce extraordinary amounts of precipitation, quite high wind speeds.
