A serious incident was recorded in the early hours of the morning in Himara, where an employee of the Electricity Distribution Operator (OSHEE) lost his life while performing his duty.

Preliminary sources indicate that the incident occurred around 03:00, at a time when technical teams were working to restore electricity to areas affected by bad weather and strong winds.

The victim is a 55-year-old man originally from Elbasan, who had been sent to Himara to support field teams in repairing defects caused in the network.

During the intervention, he suffered a fatal incident. Initial suspicions are that the employee may have come into contact with electricity, but the cause of death will only be determined after the completion of the investigation and technical expertise.

The police and the investigation team have immediately begun operations at the scene to document the circumstances of the accident, while the authorities are expected to shed light on how this tragic event occurred. We recall that yesterday Himara and the coastal area of ​​the country were hit by strong storms, causing material damage, as well as faults in power lines.
