Italian authorities have been able to fully unravel the murder of 26-year-old hairdresser from Barletta, Francesco Divisti , an event that occurred on April 25, 2025 and is considered an execution organized using mafia methods.
The main suspect is Igli Kamberi, 41, who is accused of controlling and managing the drug trade in Barletta. Two Italian citizens from Barletta, a man and a woman, are also accused of the murder of the 26-year-old, who, according to investigators, helped cover up the incident and did not report anything to the judicial authorities.
According to investigators, the origins of the crime are related to a debt of 300 euros that Divisti had with Kamberi.
According to authorities, Divisti disappeared after a conflict that occurred in a bar in Barletta, and was then taken and transported to an isolated area in Upper Murgia, near Canosa di Puglia, where he was executed with several gunshots.
After the murder, the perpetrators set fire to his body inside the tires, in an attempt to destroy evidence and make it difficult to identify the victim, a method previously used in similar criminal events in the region.
The fact that the 26-year-old disputed the debt was interpreted by the main suspect as a personal insult to his authority.
" Diviesti has questioned the 41-year-old's high position, his word — an insult that must be washed away with blood, according to the most archaic language of mafia power ," explained deputy Giuseppe Gatti, coordinator of the DDA of Bari.
