Rigersi is one of the 4 minors who were involved in the Jet Ski accident on the coast of HImara, in the month of August, where unfortunately 15-year-old Klei Xhaja was injured and later died in the hospital.
He confesses that together with his friends, all the minors paid the money and immediately went for a ride in the sea without asking them about their age.
"We want them to take a jet ski and go out to sea for a ride, no one asked us for identity, license, or age, no one asked us", he confesses.
He admits that at first they gave false testimony to the police because of the pressure they received from the owner of the Jet Ski, whom he identifies as Renato Panajoti.
"The police came to the emergency room, there I was talking to the owner of the Jet Ski. He told me that the business is at risk, we can say that it has been thrown off the cliff, there is nothing we can do about it, what happened happens. At first we stated that it was thrown from the cliff. Because of the trauma, we didn't know how to act, and a little pressure was added to us. After we sobered up a bit, we gave the exact testimony", he says.
Danieli is the other minor who was on the same jet ski with the victim who was also injured during the collision.
Like his friend Rigersi, he also says that when they got the Jet Ski, no one asked them about their age, while after the accident they were helped by a random person who had gone out to sea with a boat.
Even Danili admits that he initially lied about the incident, but as he tells in the presence of his father, he was under pressure from the owner of the Jet Ski.
"We got pressure from the owner of the jet ski, telling us that we jumped off the cliff. We were at the moment when we were not in a good psychological state, to understand with what purpose he told us that, they had no help, neither a psychologist, nor a lawyer, nor medical help. I realized for myself that what we were saying made no sense. I spoke and told the truth", he confesses.
Decision no. 845 dated October 28, 2020, for "For the adoption of detailed rules for the development of marine tourist activities carried out through watercraft", provides that the minimum age allowed for a person to drive a water motor (jet ski) is 18 years old, as well as the person driving a water motor (jet ski) must be equipped with the relevant driving license.
In the present case, both of these points were violated and the consequences were the death of the minor, Klei Xhaja, and the injury of the other minor. For this case, the pokororia of Vlora is following the investigations.
