One km distance between Ulcinj and Velipoja. This will be the new distance after the construction of the Buna Bridge, a project of Albania and Montenegro. The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, has shared some information about this project on social networks.

"The bridge will be 17 meters wide, there will be two traffic lanes of 3.75 m each, two sidewalks of 2 meters each and two bicycle lanes of 1.25 meters each. The bridge will connect 34 km of sandy beaches, which are visited by about 530,000 tourists a year. The current distance between Ulcinj and Velipoja is 73 km, while with the construction of the bridge it will be reduced to only 1 km. We make people together! "We are building a strong economy."

The project to build the bridge was unveiled on June 8th in Ohrid by Prime Minister Rama and his Montenegrin counterpart, Dritan Abazovic, will cost 9m euros and is expected to be completed within 18 months.

A memorandum of cooperation with Albania is expected to be signed early next year, said Dritan Abazovic.

The construction of this project is expected to have an important role for the development of tourism, it also aims to bring closer the tourist markets of Albania, Greece, Kosovo and others.
