4 thousand euros with rafts for England, TikTok reacts to human traffic

The images published a few days ago on TikTok show the celebration of some Albanians riding on a raft, the moment they arrive in English territorial waters. For more than a year, Albanian criminal groups have turned the Chinese social network TikTok into a free advertising instrument for human trafficking to England.

In recent months, there have been many articles full of criticism in the English media, also conveyed by Top Channel for the aggressive advertising campaign of human trafficking, from France to England in dinghies on TikTok.

In the rights of use of this social network, TikTok says that it prohibits the publication of such posts with a pure criminal background. Top Channel asked the press office of TikTok why it is difficult to identify and delete such advertisements in the Albanian language, which offer traffic of people with rafts.

Via e-mail, a spokesperson for the company TikTok said:

"Posts of this kind have no place on TiKTok. We do not allow or promote such human trafficking advertising which is sanctioned in the community rules. We have permanently closed such accounts".

Another aspect emerges from the response of the press office of this social network with 1 billion users. Advertisements by Albanian groups are subject to investigative work by English law enforcement agencies.

" We work closely with law enforcement agencies and industry partners to find and remove posts of this nature. We are part of a joint plan with the NCA (British National Organized Crime Agency) helping them fight immigration-related online crime ."

The TikTok social network says that there are thousands of people working to implement the rules and that this platform is supported by local experts in 60 languages ​​and dialects, including the Albanian language.
