The 30 minutes that saved his life 9 years ago, the mother of Reni from Elbasani

In 2020, the Uniko show from Spartak Koka on Klan Plus published the exclusive photo of the singer from Elbasan Renato Hamza, who appeared in a sports betting bar in Shijak.

It is about August 29, 2013, when Ervin Kërtalli was killed outside this lot and another was injured.

The murder happened 30 minutes after Reni had left this bar in Shijak, and the singer, whose body has not yet been found, was suspected to have served as an informant for this murder.

But what does Reni's mother say? In an interview for Uniko with journalist Spartak Koka, Silvana Hamza remembers what her son told her in 2013 when he saw on television from home that a murder had taken place in the bar where he had been.

Spartak Koka: We will once again return to the event of 2013, when I have shown the photos time and again and you first managed to identify your son by your body clothes. Then, when I gave you the full picture, you also identified him by his face and physiognomy. Do you remember anything from that story, from that event in the sense that your son told you about it?

Silvana Hamza: The boy said then, he was making the clip and when he saw the murder, he said, "Mom, I just went in, I bought a lotto, when I came out, the murder happened." You were very surprised. "Bo bo mom, there was a murder here," he said. "If I had been inside, I could have been killed there too," he said. I say this with full conviction that Renato himself told me with his own mouth.

Spartak Koka: He said it as a form that he too could have been shot at if he had been inside?

Silvana Hamza: Yes, yes. "If I had been there and I would have been killed," he said. I was surprised when I saw it on the news.

But Reni's mother denies that her son had any ties to criminal groups.

Spartak Koka: Do you think there is any connection and did your son have any connection with criminal groups in Shijak, in Durres, and is there any connection in your belief as a mother with what happened on August 29, 2013?

Silvana Hamza: Absolutely not. My son then, who went to Shijak, only made this clip, but it had nothing to do with criminal groups. My son was a worker, he worked in tallava nightclubs for a living, he did not deal with criminal groups. His friends were all musicians, the boy had no criminal groups. This should be clear to the state that it is not my son who suspected the state of this, even though he left it in the hands of the criminal. Why didn't they publish the boy's photo on TV to say that he is a suspect in this murder? Then I blame the state for this, the Elbasan police who never dealt with my son's case, but left it in the hands of the criminal until they took him and killed an innocent, an orphan. In the first place, I make the state murderer, then the criminals.

Renato Hamza has been missing since June 2014, when he was last filmed in Elbasan accompanied by Indrit Shaqja, who is currently in a cell sentenced to life imprisonment for another criminal incident, and by Deniz Xhija.

The latter is a known person of Ervin Kërtalla, killed in Shijak in August 2013. He was arrested last week in Colombia on behalf of the Romanian authorities after being accused of several criminal offenses. The last pictures of Reni in the company of Indri Shaqja and Deniz Xhija have been published for the first time exclusively by the Uniko show.
