11 Albanian citizens who arrived last week in Great Britain by dinghy were deported to Albania within 24 hours. According to "TheGuardian", the accelerated deportation of these Albanians without examining their asylum requests has raised many concerns among organizations that protect immigrants and fight for their rights.

Last month, the Interior Ministry was forced to admit that it had no right to deport Albanians without first examining their requests. But in the case of the Albanians who were sent to Manston, Ramsgate after arriving by raft, things were different. After their fingerprints were taken, the Albanians were deported to Albania on a plane that left directly from Manston.

Non-government sources have told "TheGuardian" that the 11 Albanians were not given the opportunity to review their asylum claims before boarding the plane. Mishka Pillay, immigration consultant at DetentionAction, said:

This removal of 11 people to Albania is an indication that people in Manston may be deprived of due process. We have had serious concerns about Manston.

The incident involving the 11 Albanians has heightened concern for Manston, a temporary tented site at an airport designed to hold 1,000 people arriving by raft but currently holding 3,000. There are reports of people being held in this country for longer than the 5-day time limit and this has raised concerns about the care they receive during this time.
