After only four months at the helm of Albanian diplomacy, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, says he has reached a conclusion "that leaves no room for doubt": according to him, Albania has never had a better name and a stronger voice in the international arena.
Through a long post on the X network, the minister lists a series of superlative assessments of the country's position, describing Albania as the most respected, most desired and most welcomed in its history, while emphasizing that membership in the European Union is now "the opportunity of a generation."
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, post on X:
A conclusion that leaves no room for doubt.
After nearly four months in office, during which time I have met and spoken with all my counterparts in the member states of the European Union, in the region and throughout the European space; after having held hundreds of meetings with officials, diplomats, journalists, experts and researchers who follow and analyze geopolitical developments; and after having participated in dozens of ministerial meetings, conferences, forums, meetings and international activities, one conclusion emerges clearly:
?Never before in its history has Albania had a better name in the world and a stronger voice in the international arena.
? Never before has Albania enjoyed such friendly and cooperative, reliable and consolidated relations with its partners and allies, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
At no point in our history has Albania been more respected, more appreciated, more desired and more visited than it is today, with its doors open everywhere and welcomed everywhere.
? In every capital city I have been to during this time, I have felt the same spirit and experienced the same thing: Albania is listened to with more attention, treated with more respect and, above all, seen as a serious, reliable partner with a concrete contribution and the potential to offer more, both for Europe and for the region.
? No less significant and meaningful is the change in perception.
Today, the name #Albania is increasingly associated with freedom, success, development, tourism, hospitality, positive energy and a dynamic society in unstoppable transformation, reflecting a completely transformed reality: of an Albania that is more open, more competitive and more present than ever before on the political, economic and tourist map of Europe.
? And, above all, Albania is on the verge of realizing the dream that unites Albanians wherever they live, in every corner of the country and on every side of the globe: membership in the European Union and a full return to our historical, political and European civilizational belonging.
This is not just a historical moment.
It is an opportunity that comes once in a generation. A unique window to fulfill the greatest national aspiration and return Albania to where it has always been its natural place.
But such an opportunity does not materialize by itself.
It requires even more dedication, even more responsibility, even more work, energy, and determination.
Above all, it requires the contribution of each of us, beyond political differences, beliefs, or where we live.
Because membership in the European Union is our national project.
And precisely as such, it requires the union of our best energies, so that we can transform this historical moment into the greatest achievement of democratic Albania and into a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Just a decade is enough to look back and understand where we were and where we are today;
where we came from and where we are going;
what we inherited and what we want to build.
All together.
