The Albanian Football Federation has made official the new coach of the red and black national team.

As it was reported a few days ago in the media, it is about the 48-year-old Brazilian, Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior, otherwise known to the public as Silvinho. 

He will succeed the Italian Edoardo Reja, whose contract ended in December, at the head of the bench of the Albanian national team.

Silvinho has selected the Argentinian Pablo Javier Zabaleta Girod and the Brazilian Dorival Guidoni Junior as his assistants.

On January 9, Silvinho and his staff will be in Tirana to sign the contract and then to make their presentation at 11:00 in the hall of the "Air Albania" stadium.

The Albanian Football Federation has reached an agreement with coach Sylvio Mendes Campos Júnior to take over the leadership of our national team.

Silvinho will replace the Italian Edoardo Reja in this task, who was in charge of the Rossoneri for 3 and a half years, achieving important results and significantly renovating the team with promising new elements. The Albanian Football Federation thanks Edi Rejan for his valuable contribution to the management of the National Team during these years and highly appreciates the experience and cooperation he has offered in the further growth of the Albanian National Team.

Sylvio Mendes Campos Júnior, i njohur për publikun si Silvinjo, ka përzgjedhur si ndihmës të tij argjentinasin Pablo Javier Zabaleta Girod dhe brazilianin Dorival Guidoni Junior.

Marrëveshja mes FSHF dhe stafit të ri drejtuar nga Silvinjo parashikon një kohëzgjatje 18-mujore deri në përfundim të Euro 2024 dhe aspekti financiar do të bazohet në rezultatet dhe arritjen e objektivave. Marrëveshja ka në thelb të saj arritjen e objektivit të vetëm që ka Shqipëria në këto eliminatore, kualifikimi për në finalet e Euro 2024. Në rast të arritjes së objektivit është rënë dakord që trajneri dhe stafi i tij të përfitojnë bonuse të konsiderueshme.

The 48-year-old Silvinjo, who comes with a rich CV as a player and coach, has a rich experience as a deputy coach immediately after leaving football and a coach afterwards. It all started in 2011 when he took the position of assistant coach at Cruzeiro, then moved on to Sport Recife, Nautico, Corinthias, Inter, assistant coach of Brazil for three years before taking charge of Olympique Lyonnais in France and then Corinthians in Brazilian championship.

In his rich career as a player, Silvinho has been active at Corinthias, Arsenal, Celta Vigo, Barcelona and Manchester City where he ended his career
