The latest defeat in the Champions League confirmed that Manchester City is going through a crisis in terms of results. The defeat against Sporting Lisbon with the result 4-1 was the third in a row for the "citizens" after defeats against Tottenham and Bournemouth.
Three consecutive defeats for City did not happen since 2018. The team is facing a difficult moment, but coach Pep Guardiola seems to have expected something like this.
"It's a difficult moment, but I'm still here. It will be a difficult season, we knew that from the beginning. I like this, we'll deal with it. I want to lift the players and try to make it. We are fighting in all competitions and moving forward. Maybe people expect this, but I don't give up," Guardiola declared.
One of the reasons that has affected the results is undoubtedly the injury problem, with the English having lost Rodri, while previously dealing with injuries to De Bruyne, Grealish, Ake, Foden, Doku, Walker, Stones and Ruben Dias.
