After 44 years, Aston Villa returns to success in Europe!

Aston Villa ended their 44-year wait for a European trophy, convincingly defeating Freiburg 3-0 in the Europa League final, held at Besiktas Park.

Playing in white shirts, as a tribute to the heroes of the 1982 European Cup triumph (against Bayern Munich), Aston Villa put in a brilliant performance and controlled the final from start to finish.

Thus ends a fantastic season for Aston Villa, where the English team secured another place in the top five of the Premier League, which means participation in the Champions League next season.

Meanwhile, this was the fifth Europa League trophy for Aston Villa's Spanish coach, Unai Emery.
