Robinho's new life in prison in Brazil, here's what the former Milan

The former attacker of Real Madrid and Milan , Robinho is serving a sentence of 9 years in prison in Tremembé for a rape committed while playing for the Reds and Blacks in Italy.

After fleeing to Brazil to escape prison, the former Selecao star was also sentenced in his own country and is now behind bars trying to build a new life.

A new life light years away from the glitz and pomp of an elite footballer...

Robinho new life in prison:

Robinho was sentenced by the Supreme Court of Brazil to 9 years in prison for the gang rape of an Albanian girl, committed in 2013, in a nightclub in Milan.

The former striker, after being sentenced in Italy, tried to avoid prison by returning to Brazil, but last March a Brazilian court accepted Italy's request that the former footballer serve his sentence in his homeland.

Robinho is now serving his sentence in Tremembé, defined in Brazil as a "celebrity prison".

There he is trying to rebuild a life away from football and is undertaking various training courses to become an electrician, fixing televisions, radios and other electronic equipment.

In addition, he runs a reading program that distributes books to other inmates.

A way, perhaps, to get a reduced sentence, or at least to enter a more flexible detention regime.
