The situation has been critical for years. Franz Beckenbauer is not well, he has various health problems. Lothar Matthäus provided details on the legend's health to German broadcaster Rtl:

"We want him to be the old Beckenbauer, full of energy. We wish him the best possible health. We hope it gets better, he himself said that health is the most important thing in the world. At the moment there is none. It's not very good. Let's hope that the road goes in the opposite direction".

In recent weeks, Beckenbauer, the coach of the German national team that won the World Cup in Italy in 1990, did not attend a meeting due to health reasons. The "Kaiser", who will turn 78 on September 11, had to surrender due to health problems.

After all, Beckenbauer has not been well for years: in 2016 and 2017 he had two heart surgeries:

"I have some health problems for some time and this is known", he said at the time.

"I recently went to a specialized clinic because I was diagnosed with a blood circulation problem in my eyes. I had an eye attack. I can see little or nothing out of my right eye. So don't be angry if I don't see you," he would declare at the time. Now the alarm has been raised by Lotthar Matthäus.
