Forbes has compiled a list of the highest paid athletes in 2023. At the top of the list is Cristiano Ronaldo thanks to the millionaire contract with his new team, Al-Nassr.

Two other players Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe complete the podium.

In the top 10 there are athletes from four other sports, basketball, tennis, golf and boxing.

The ranking takes into account earnings for sporting and off-field activities between sponsorships and image rights.

The income of the 38-year-old Portuguese champion reaches the figure of 136 million dollars, which allows him to precede his eternal rival Messi, who enjoys 130 million, and Mbappe with 120 million.

Just below the podium is NBA superstar LeBron James with 119.5 million, trailing boxer Canelo Alvarez with 110 million and golfers Dustin Johnson (107 million) and Phil Mickelson (106 million).

To complete the top ten are two other NBA basketball players, Stephen Curry (100.4 million) and Kevin Durant (89.1), and among them former tennis player Roger Federer (95.1 million).
