The Serbian Football Federation has been punished by FIFA after incidents recorded in the match against Andorra, a match held at the Leskovac stadium.
FIFA has imposed a fine of 50,000 francs on Serbia, while ordering the closure of part of the stadium, specifically 8,100 seats, for the upcoming match against England. According to the official announcement, if the situation does not improve, similar penalties may be applied for the upcoming match against Albania.
This means that the match between Serbia and Albania could take place with a limited number of fans or even with the stands completely empty.
The Albanian Football Federation has also recently been punished by FIFA for incidents that occurred during the qualifiers, causing both national teams to be under strict scrutiny for fan behavior at future international matches.
