Tracing assets of illegal origin and securing electronic evidence in corruption investigations were two of the main issues that brought together 70 investigators and prosecutors from 28 countries in Tirana at a meeting organized by SPAK.

The meeting took place from October 27 to 29, where investigators and prosecutors exchanged experiences on ways of investigating corruption, the legal use of initial information, and the verification of the illegal origin of assets.

One of the topics discussed was cooperation between authorities of different countries, especially in cases where the persons under investigation, information and assets are located outside the borders of a state. In these cases, securing evidence requires close international cooperation.

Representatives of three international organizations also participated in the meeting.

This was the 16th meeting of the Law Enforcement Network (LEN), part of the OECD Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The meeting was co-organized by SPAK and the OECD, with the support of the European Union and the United Kingdom Government.
