Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Dr. Karen Donfried will travel to the Western Balkans, while the US State Department announces that she will visit Albania on April 28, where is the 100th anniversary of US-Albania diplomatic relations.

"It will also underline our strong support for Albania's EU membership and regional economic integration, as well as stress the need to fully implement justice reform and fight corruption," the statement said.

Karen Donfried will also hold a meeting with the 3 Democratic officials who continue to support the American line, Jorida Tabaku, Gazment Bardhi and Enklejed Alibeaj.

This meeting with the Democrats comes 24 hours before the Assembly of Sali Berisha that aims to elect the new leading dome of the Democratic Party.

As Gabriel Escobar did in December, before the meeting of the Stadium Assembly, his boss, Karen Donfried, is expected to make clear the position of the Americans if Sali Berisha takes over the leadership of the largest opposition party.
