The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, has expressed concern over the escalation of tensions in the north of Kosovo. In a reaction on social networks, she said that the crisis is artificial and that the barricades were not set up by citizens, but by gangs, as she called for dialogue.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, reacted after the statement by the Albanian counterpart Xhaçka, saying that the barricades are peaceful resistance to the terror against the Serbs by the criminal regime of Albin Kurti.
Minister Xhaçka has responded again to her Serbian counterpart saying that they do not agree with her as she adds that the barricades are not a means of peaceful protest.
In a post on Twitter, Minister Xhaçka says that if "barricades were a means of peaceful protest, then many basic notions of civilization for peaceful coexistence would have to be revised, with dramatic consequences", adding that "it is not an idea at all good".
"We are sorry, we do not agree! Barricades are not a means of peaceful protest! If it were so, then many basic notions of our civilization for peaceful coexistence between people, communities, parties, nations would have to be revised. With dramatic consequences. It's not a good idea, at all," Minister Xhaçka wrote on Twitter.
