Decision/ The Government establishes the State Authority for Geospatial

The Albanian government has created the State Authority for Geospatial Information.

The structure and organization of ASIGUT are approved by order of the Prime Minister, according to the provisions in force of the legislation on the organization and operation of state administration institutions.

This agency will handle the administration and archiving of geospatial information captured through satellite images, UAV technology, 360-degree cameras, made available by the Ministry of Defense, or institutions dependent on it, as well as created by ASIG, in within internal projects or with foreign cooperation.

DECISION:

I. In the text of the regulation attached to decision no. 147, dated 20.2.2013, of the Council of Ministers, the following additions and changes are made:

1. Point 3, of Article 6, is amended as follows: "3. The structure and organization of ASIGUT are approved by order of the Prime Minister, according to the provisions in force of the legislation on the organization and operation of state administration institutions.".

2. After point 2, of Article 7, point 2/1 is added, with the following content: "2/1. The general director of ASIGU is supported by a deputy director.".

3. The following changes are made in Article 9: a) The title of the article is changed, as follows: "Function of inter-institutional coordination, administration and processing of geospatial information"; b) The introductory sentence is changed, as follows: "Within the inter-institutional coordination, administration and processing of geospatial information, ASIG exercises the following functions:".

c) After the letter "j", the letters "k", "l", "ll", "m", "n" and "nj" are added, with the following content:

"k) administration and archiving of geospatial information captured (collected) through satellite images, UAV technology, 360-degree cameras, etc., made available by the Ministry of Defense, or institutions dependent on it, as well as created by ASIG -u, within internal projects or with foreign cooperation;
l) processing and analyzing geospatial information data captured (collected) through satellite images, UAV technology, 360-degree cameras, etc.;
ll) distribution of processed geospatial information captured (collected) through satellite images, UAV technology, 360-degree cameras, etc., to public authorities, according to their areas of responsibility;
m) cooperation with ministries or institutions for the appointment of responsible persons/point of contact, necessary for the in-depth analysis and processing of information obtained from advanced technologies;
n) drafting, in cooperation with the ministries or institutions, according to their area of ​​responsibility, the necessary manuals and instructions for the way of using the information obtained from the monitoring of the territory with advanced technology, which are approved by the general director, within 6 months from the application of this technology;
nj) processing data from the systems in order to produce various reports to help interest groups, for decision-making or statistical purposes.".
