The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared today that in the village of Pekisht, Elbasan, in a bar-cafe owned by the mayor Dervish Beqiri, electoral materials and significant amounts of money suspected of being "narco-euro" were found.

According to Berisha, the information was conveyed yesterday evening to the future MP for Elbasan, Blendi Himci, who this morning went to the premises of the bar and found ballot papers, voter lists and other election materials there, in a place suspected to be part of what Berisha called the "Bulgarian train."

"The Bulgarian train remained at the Pekisht station. It went off the rails and remained there," Berisha said, referring to a known practice of vote manipulation, linked to Socialist Party patrons, according to him.

Berisha stressed that the incident is similar to other cases previously reported in areas such as Kashari and Astriti, where, according to him, "alternative voting centers" set up in parallel with the official centers operated.
