Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha has reacted sharply after the latest episode of Prime Minister Edi Rama's "Flasim" podcast, accusing him of trying to justify, according to the opposition, abuses of public and private assets in Albania by hiding behind the names of foreign architects and studios.
In a video message, Berisha stated that the publication of the books and projects presented does not prove a successful government, but portrays Rama as "a sultan of a sultanate of bygone times," who, according to him, treats the country as personal property.
He also raised questions about the 523 projects presented, demanding transparency about their funding sources. Berisha called on international institutions such as Eurojust, Europol and Interpol to investigate the payments made, also citing suspicions of conflicts of interest and family benefits in the Gjipe area.
For his part, Berisha described the citizen reaction to the project and the book as "fully deserved and dignified."
