The indictment in the McGonigal case may have been cited 14 times, but that's not 14 counts. This was the first argument of Prime Minister Edi Rama in the debate motion that is being held in the Parliament this Thursday.
The head of the government is reading before the legislators in Parliament all the times that his name has been mentioned in the indictment, affirming case after case that it is about facts, events that happened, but not about crimes.
Rama accepts as facts all the times when his name is mentioned in the indictment, both for the times when he meets with the former FBI official and with persons A and B in the indictment, but denies that in any case there are accusations or " crimes committed."
" Yes, it is true that I had dinner with McGonigal. And he invited me. And where is the crime here? For the tenth time, the accused's defense failed to prove that the accused had reported the meetings and the trips. So, here we are talking about the accused who did not do his duty according to their laws. Where does my crime come in? Did he report to the center that he met me or not ?"
