The Deputy/Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, in a reaction to the media, said that the transport of Kurum's hazardous waste was processed by European concessionaires operating at the Port of Durrës.

" I call on the media to be careful when analyzing this issue, which, in addition to being delicate, is very complicated from a legal and procedural point of view. The analyzes I have heard affect the image of Albania. We have to wait for the decisions regarding this important environmental issue. The case was named: Port of Durrës.

Port and waste are two different things. I have seen that the Port Authority and several ministries are involved. The transport of waste has started since 1998, there is a real protocol, it is nothing new, there is transit and transport of hazardous waste that are coded based on the transport codes of these wastes.

What is more important is that the Port Authority has nothing to do with this process, that they were processed by the European concessionaires operating in the Port of Durrës. There are two competing entities, to be clear ."
