The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has sent a letter to the Parliament of Albania and the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha requesting the questioning of the latter.

The letter is dated November 14, 2023 and was administered by the Protocol of the Assembly.

"In compliance with the court's order for the communication of decision No. 117 dated 26.10.2023, we are sending you the attached decision with No. 117, dated 26.10.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime belonging to the citizen Sali Berisha with the object: Interrogation of the person under investigation with the aim of obtaining information from your side", says the letter of GJKKO .

For the former Prime Minister and the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha , there is a security measure, an obligation to appear and a ban on leaving Albania in connection with the ongoing investigations into the privatization of the former Partizani complex, for the accusation of passive corruption.

Berisha has rejected these accusations and refuses to recognize the court's decision on this security measure, with the argument that authorization from the Parliament had to be obtained first because he is a member of parliament.
