Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi, in a statement to the media shortly before the start of the February 20 protest, stated that the protest is organized to overthrow the government and protect the rights of citizens.

"These people are in the square. They've made a mess, all the boys from Lushnja are here, there's no one with a gun or a dagger with them."

"It's time for this government to leave. We are here to support the citizens and the state police. All these guys are unemployed," said Korreshi.
