The former prime minister of Italy, Romano Prodi, rejects the agreement reached for immigrants between Italy and Albania.

He said that the entire agreement for immigrants, according to him, is a facade policy well thought out by the two prime ministers. According to Prodi, Meloni is giving the message to the electorate of Italy that he is driving away the immigrants, when in fact according to him this is not true since even in Albania they will be protected by the Italian authorities, while Rama's promise to his electorate according to Prodi is that "it is helping Albania reach Europe".

Invited to the show Piazzapulita, the former Italian prime minister explained:

“It's a good idea for Melon… It's a perfect little game. The electorate votes for those who believe that taxes should be lowered and immigrants treated badly. The government can't do anything about taxes and decides to send immigrants out of Italy, so an interesting comedy with Albania is born".

The former Italian Prime Minister concludes that this agreement includes two political leaders who are in the interest of their parties and in fact this politically perfect agreement will be solemnly celebrated on the eve of the European elections

From the Albanian side, however, it seems to them that this is an investment from a small business in Albania.

At the same time, Rama, who is not the last in terms of political insight, does the opposite with his citizens, so he says: "With this I help Albania reach Europe". In short, the contract is perfect. So immigrants have nothing to do with this, it's just a nice political game that costs our citizens dearly. Was Parliament consulted on this agreement? Yes normal, it (Parliament) has never been involved by this government. Here we have two political leaders who are in the interest of their parties, and in fact this politically perfect agreement will be solemnly celebrated on the eve of the European elections", said Prodi.
